About Organic Cotton
Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic cotton uses seeds that are not gmo's (genetically modified organisms). Farmers control weeds with hand hoeing opposed to herbicides. Organic cotton farmers also use beneficial insects to control pests rather than pesticides, insecticides and aerial spraying, and defoliate with seasonal freezing and water control methods opposed to chemical treatments. Organic cotton has the soft touch and feel of conventional cotton without the use of toxins.
Inks & Dyes
Luau Baby clothing is dyed using low-impact, environmentally-friendly dyes and printed with non-phthalate, soy-based inks.
Better for the environment, better for your baby!
Wash & Care Instructions
Handmade by us, worn by your children and cared for by you. It is suggested you wash Luau Baby items inside out and on the gentle or delicate cycle. Due to the nature of our dyeing process, formaldehyde is not used as a fixing agent, as it is in most conventional clothing. We have found with some detergents it is best to use extra care and wash charcoal and lagoon with dark, like colors, to prevent bleeding from occurring. As we have found with all baby clothing, line drying may increase the life of the garment, vibrancy of the colors and integrity of the graphics. However, our items can be dried on the gentle cycle.
Sizing
Luau Baby items are pre-shrunk in the dying process, and run about a size small. It is best to order up a size if your baby is in between sizes. The toddler dress looks great by itself but can also be worn as a tunic with jeans or leggings.
